B*&$n&$ B*&#@$

I rarely try to curse in life.  Some of you that know me well may be laughing really hard right now because you know I have a really bad potty mouth.  I try to keep the blog clean as I have an audience of people that still think I am sweet and innocent like my grandma and Mike's aunt. This blog entry really deserves some sort of curse words on here. Here is why:
As most of you know I have been training really hard for the last 12 weeks to run Lincoln.  I have ran farther and worked harder than I ever have.  I really want to break a PR in this race.  I love to train, I love spring because it reminds me of the Lincoln marthon.  I love the Lincoln marathon.  I love the crowd, the course, the spectators- I hear there was a really fast storm trooper from Star Wars last year that I missed.  This year they sold out in record time and I got a spot to run with the other 7999 runners. This year guess where they are finishing the race?
Yep, 50 yard line of Memorial Stadium.  Complete with a large picture of you running in, the tunnel run, the crowd cheering you on.  I don't even like football and I am excited about that.  I could only tell you like two names of Nebraska players and the coach and this totally sounded amazing to me.  Who doesn't want to see yourself on those big TV running in on the biggest sports stadium and iconic field in Nebraska?  Well guess who isn't going to be there this year?  ME!!!  Yep, I am out - officially out of the running to finish first in the half marathon this year.  I kid...but a girl can hope.  Why you may be wondering?  While I have a B#$@$ stress fracture in my thigh!  S&#* G*@#&$.  That is how I feel today. This one came on fast and strong, I knew it as soon as I started having pain last week but was hoping against hope.
I have to hang up my running and walking shoes for at least 6 weeks.  I tried to talk the Doctor into giving me pain pills to get me through the next four weeks but he didn't think that was so funny.  Maybe I should get a second opinion.  I can't even think about all of my running routes without getting sad.  No more playing frogger with cars on 2nd Avenue, no more thinking about Mc Donald's breakfast burritos as I run by, adios Yanney Park see you all in six weeks.

  1. Sorry to hear that. Hopefully the stadium will be such a big hit they will do it every year.
