T Update

Thatcher has had lots of "big boy" milestones these last couple months.
Thatcher's vocabulary is improving immensely.  He often times will repeat what you say and then say it again, and again and again.  "Snow, snow, snow, snow."  Got it - snow.  I will say I am really glad he hasn't picked up my terrible mouth because I really haven't tried to watch what I say.  I am sure the day is coming where a curse word will fly out of his mouth and I will have no one to blame but myself.  They will probably come out in a full sentence with at least two curse words involved.  He does combine words like " Watch this", "More Juice, Please" "What's this".  He also has shown an interest in the potty and will tell you that his diaper is dirty - if you ask- or just pull down his pants so you get the point.  I do think we are going to wait a little while longer to potty train but he is definitely getting the point of the potty.
In the last month or so Thatcher has really started to take a real interest in the mound of books in his room.  I bet we read 4-5 books in the span of an evening.  When I say reading I mean he points to the pictures and says "what's this?" endlessly.  If you tell him to bring you a certain book he knows which one you are asking for and will bring it to you.  Brown Bear, Tractor, Truck, Baby Farm Animals, and Animal Picture books are his favorite.
Last weekend we took off the front of T's crib and put up the half rail.  He is free to crawl out of bed whenever he feels he is ready to get up for the day.  He does this before Mike and I are ready to get up for the day.  That is saying something since we are both early risers.  I am hoping it is a stage that will pass- and hopefully pass sooner rather than later.
This is how I found Thatcher the other morning when I walked into this room to see if he was awake. Which apparently he had been for a while and was having fun playing dress up. You have to love how terrible his face looks.  Oh the life of being a boy!

I think I have managed to bleach the sickness out of our house.  We are all feeling better.  I never really got sick which I am thankful for (knock on wood).
