How quickly they learn

A short snippet of my evening last night with my lovely son Thatcher- whose personality is mine- so we butt heads a lot.
Mike had a gun club meeting last night so he did not get home until after 7.  I had made supper earlier in the evening and was in the process of cleaning up when T decided he wanted a snack and kept screaming at me to get him one.  I responded not until you act like a " big boy"  I don't give snacks to babies.  While he kept throwing his fit so I ignored him, told him again no snack until you shape up.  While he ended up going snack less that night.  Mike had not even been home for 10 seconds and Thatcher kept asking him for a cookie.  I heard Mike say "let me take off my shoes and I will get you a cookie."  How does a 2 year old learn that hey that mean lady in there won't give me a girl scout cookie but Daddy will?  This was the first time I have seen T do the "mom won't give it to me so I will ask dad."  ( No worries I was quick to inform Mike that T does not need a cookie).
Later that night when Mike was giving T his bath.  I walked in to ask if T had practiced laying on his back in the tub.  He looks right at me and says "Yeah."  While guess what it was a lie!  So in the course of an hour T had managed to manipulate one parent and lie to the other!

To add salt to an already sore wound- This is how our bed time conversation went:
T points to his shirt-
Me: Moose
T:  Moose
Points to the turkey on my turkey trot shirt
T: Moose
Me: No Turkey
T: Moose
Me: No Turkey

We end this game.
Me: Night, Night
T: Night, Night
Me: Can you say I love you?
T: No

Mike had to leave the room because he was laughing so hard.
