This was the first year that we had Santa come to our house and we were all very much anticipating his arrival. We stayed in Kearney this year so we a pretty quiet Christmas. On Saturday we made treats for Santa and I went to Church on Saturday night and for some reason I thought it would be like any other Saturday night mass. Holy Cow! It was packed- oops - should have got there much, much earlier. I was, however, able to find a seat since it was just little old me. After I got home from church that night we had dinner and did our family gifts. Thatcher got some Cars stuff and a Leapster 2 from us. The Leapster 2 is probably a little advanced for him but he likes to play his "games" - he will figure them out eventually and I don't think some advanced learning will hurt him.
Christmas morning Thatcher ended up in our bed for a short time and we were talking about Santa coming to our house. T told me he saw Santa and his reindeer that night so he was sure that Santa had visited our house. Sure enough, Santa had arrived with lots of toys for Thatcher. He got this nifty power wheel car and some Thomas the Train sets.
It was so nice Sunday that we took his car outside to give it a go. Thatcher didn't understand that you had to get into the car and drive he just wanted to push it around like his other cars. Once he got in he could push the gas but he can't figure out how to steer and push the gas at the same time so he runs into a lot of things and goes in circles. We will keep working on it and I am sure he will figure it out and be gone!
