Mini Vacation

We took at mini vacation this past weekend to the Spruce Hollow Lodge at Heartwood.  Sounds fancy, huh?  It is really my grandparents cabin on their farm place outside of Hartington.  We originally were going for my grandparents 85th birthday party so we decided to take an extra day and make it a long weekend and spend time with the Hoesing clan.  We had a great time.  Thatcher just ran and ran and ran.

My attempt at trying to get Thatcher to stand next to the sign.  There was way too much going on outside for him to make me happy. Thatcher walked up and down this hill so many times.  Up, down, up, down.

It is so quiet and secluded out there.  It was nice to enjoy the quiet peacefulness of our surroundings.  It really reminded me of being up in Canada.  Which was good because we didn't make that trip this year.

There was lots of yard to run around and play.

There is an amazing deck on the back of the house facing and amazing view.  What cabin would be complete with out a wooden swing to take in the view.

There is a private pond on the property that we could go down and enjoy and fish off the bridge.  Thatcher found all sorts of "goodies" on the way down to the pond.

It was a breeze going down to the pond because it was downhill.  Going uphill required more work!

What would a cabin vacation trip be without enjoying some smores !?!

It was so relaxing and was a much needed vacation.  I hope we can go back again soon.  I hope Thatcher will remember this place and how much he enjoyed being there.
