Mater Cake

In the weeks and days leading up to Thatcher's birthday if you asked him what he wanted he would say a Mater Cake and Presents.  He couldn't tell you what kind of presents but he definitely knew he wanted a Mater Cake.  This was the first year that Thatcher got the fact that he was having a party.  He talked about who was coming for weeks non stop.  He couldn't wait for his cousins and grandparents to come.
The month before his party were kind of stressful as we were redoing his bedroom and a total bathroom remodel.  Thanks to Mike's hard work it all got done and other than the weather the day was a success.  Thatcher loved his party, his presents and of course his cake.  He just loves when people come to see him.  Apparently Mike and I are really boring.

Thatcher got a fishing pole for his birthday and on Sunday all he could talk about was going fishing.  Mike took him out to Cabela's and they bought a tackle box and tackle for him.  Mike even took him out to the front yard to show him how to cast his pole. He was so excited!  The weather that day was terrible and the wind was at hurricane force but Thatcher just had to go fishing.  So we went.  Mike took him fishing and I went for a run on the trail right but the pond.  We didn't stay long but Thatcher got to go fishing.  Even with the terrible weather he still enjoyed himself.

Since Tuesday was his actual birthday we took him out to eat with Mandy and Jeff.  He loves them so much and could not wait to see them.  He had a great time being the center of attention and is obsessed with the Mickey Mouse cup they got him - although he quick to point out the Goofy was not on the cup -and his Ford Truck and Trailer.  I would say that if you asked Thatcher he would say he had a Great Birthday!
