Ding Dong the Vanity is Gone!

A couple weeks ago I was walking around Target and for some reason I stopped in the bathroom section and found a shower curtain I thought was too cute- why I had extra time to waste "browsing" is beyond me.  I went home thinking I should redo our bathroom.  When I approached the subject to Mike I was met with a not so pleasant face.  I figured it wasn't necessary to take the time to redo our bathroom and put it on the back burner.  It wasn't until I realized I have to host a bunch of women for card night in November that I switched into obsessive mode.  Those who know me well know I can get a little obsessive about certain things. I know it, it is who I am and I am aware of how "intense- crazy- whatever you want to call it" I can get.  Having people over to our house sends me into "rabid dog" obsessiveness- especially people that have never been to my house- it is a whole new level of madness.  So off to Target I went to get the new curtain and to pick out paint samples and make our bathroom a new better bathroom.

This weekend the bright yellow that I thought looked amazing three years ago met it's match.  Mike added to my obsessiveness and decided he wanted a new vanity.  So we tore out our old vanity, baseboards, and trim.

Up went new paint and in went the new vanity.  I think it looks amazing.  It really went better than expected.
( I can't get these to turn right so you can tilt your heads to get the full effect)

Although  having a toddler while doing home improvement makes things a little more difficult and time consuming.  I think poor Thatcher was drug up to Menard's at least 4 times in 3 days so the other person at home could get work done without him throwing a fit or being underfoot.

After the third trip Mike learned the value of carts and using them with a child- I have no idea why it took him that long. I never go anywhere without putting T in a cart.

I have come up with another nickname for T.  "Mayor" -Everywhere we go he is waving at everyone, flirting with the girls, schmoozing the old men.  I tell him he is running for Mayor of Kearney.  I picked up a mirror from Menard's and he would wave at people in the mirror while we were standing in line and the whole up to the front.  Who knows maybe he will run for Mayor someday- he will have lots of practice!
