Zoo Extravaganza

We took a mini-vaca this past week to hit the zoo's of Eastern Nebraska.  I think I was probably the most excited to hit the zoo's.  I haven't been to the Omaha Zoo in at least 15 years if not longer.  We took off Thursday morning and hit the zoo.  Thatcher had a great time.  He just kept walking around with his finger pointed out saying "oh, oh, oh".  His favorite things to see and do at the zoo were probably feeding the gigantic koi fish off the bridge, the aquarium and the gorilla's.  He would have feed those fish all day I think.  Next time we go I will bring some of Frankie's food with us as I am sure that is what the fish food is.

Thatcher was go, go, go.  We were constantly chasing after him.

We had a long day on Thursday.  I was beat after walking all those hills and pushing a stroller.  It didn't help that I got up early to run that morning either.  We made Thatcher walk quite a bit so he was exhausted as well.  We went back to Aunt Gina and Uncle Adam's to rest up to head to Lincoln on Friday to do it all over again.

Friday morning we were headed to Lincoln to see what the Lincoln Zoo had in store for us.  It was small in comparison to Omaha but it was a fun little zoo.  It was pretty quiet so Thatcher got to run all over the place.  Mike and I swear we heard him say "panda".  No, Lincoln does not have Tian Tian like the National Zoo they have a red panda something or other there that really just looks like a big cat.  We were pointing at it saying "panda" and he repeated it.

They also had a small petting zoo that he could feed the goats.   He was a little unsure about those big long tongues coming at him and I don't blame him it scared me too.

We wrapped up our trip by staying with Rozlyn and Brian on Friday night and heading home Saturday morning.  It was good to get away but this little trip made me realize that bouncing place to place makes everyone tired and crabby.  We are not ready to take a week long vacation with Thatcher yet- especially if we are go, go the whole time.
